I'm white, middle-class, love my wife, own my home and adore traditional TV sitcoms. So why does the BBC hate me?Assuming for the sake of argument that the BBC does in fact hate him and this isn't some paranoid fantasy, I'm guessing that it's nothing to do with the attributes he lists. I strongly suspect that those statements apply to a majority of BBC employees, and I don't think they suffer from more than the normal degree of self-loathing. It must be down to some other feature of Quentin Letts. What could it be? Looking at his gurning well-groomed head-and-shoulders shot, adding in a bit of cultural intuition about the context of the question and dim recollection of other columns he's written, I think it's worth considering the possibility that they hate him because he's a wanker.
I would find out what his actual beef is, but they want £2 for access to the online version, for which they can whistle, and I'm not spending time hunting down a paper copy.

Oh presumably he's talking about the way The Good Life hasn't been recommissioned for its 37th season or It Ain't Half Hot Mum for its 28th.
(Thinks: how would you convince terrorists that the way to strike a blow at the very heart of Britain would be to pay a visit to Northcliffe House on, say, a weekly basis?)
